Offering a hand in friendship
only to be ignored like you were just
a nothing standing there.
Smarts like an open wound.

Trying over and over again to make
friends only to be shunned .
People pretending they don't hear or
see you leaves a heart in shambles.

The cold shoulder of life exists.
People struggling to belong never seem
to make it.
It's like a circle that closes if you aren't
welcome.
Talk about leaving a scar on the soul.

The cold shoulder of life grows bigger
when no matter where you go you
are just shut out.
People treating people like lepers
very sad indeed.
We all need friends and a warm hello.

Little circle of friends watch it for someone
you feel just isn't friend material may be
trying to infiltrate your little circle.
Oh, never mind you are ok for all you have to
do is give them the cold shoulder and they
will leave.
You do it so well.
